One of the adventures we had in Ishikawa was during a hunt for accommodation on the first night.  We weren't having much luck...and then we saw this place.  It looked very hopeful, so Tom dashed in to ask if they had a room free (he'd been practicing the Japanese all afternoon), while I parked the car.  What we failed to remember is that many (especially up-market) Japanese restaurants have several private rooms in which you can enjoy your dinner alone, in peace.  Hmmm.

6,000 yen, a wonderful, traditional Japanese meal and no place to stay later, we set off again.

The food and view were spectacular, and the experience was amazing.  We really thought the food would never end!  Course after course kept being served to us in our private tatami room.

It was just slightly embarrassing having to cart all the bags and the case out again...a-hem...hehehe.
