After Ishigaki I spent two nights in Iriomote Island. Iriomote is very remote - the population isn't very high, and the only things to do are snorkeling, scuba diving, canoeing and hiking. Unfortunately the weather was terrible while I was there, and only cleared up the day I left! I still managed to have fun, though!!! ;)

These lions can be found on either side of entrances all over Ishigaki and Iriomote. Unlike the ones on the roofs, these always appear in pairs. One with the mouth open, and one with it
closed. |
