For a minimal fee, we could attend a week of basic Japanese lessons (morning only).  I found the lessons far too basic, although I understand that many people who had never done any Japanese before found the pace much too fast.  We had four teachers, who team-taught us, and they were all lovely.

 

I only have two photos - and it's a bit of a "spot the difference", or "spot who took which photo" (hint:  look at the front row).
