My worries that Mum couldn't make it up the stairs (primarily because Tom and I found them really difficult) were totally unfounded.  She bounded up them faster than you could say "Do you need a hand?".

 

It was very cold on this day, and the castle is open to the elements.  To make matters worse, you have to take your shoes off and put on the thin rubber ones provided.
