After visiting the Echizen Daibutsu, we headed over the short distance to the castle in Katsuyama. This castle is not an old castle - in fact in was built, I believe, in the 1980s. It's a museum - which would probably be very interesting if you could read Japanese. As it was, we still found it interesting, although bitterly cold - you have to take your shoes off when you go in (as with so many places) and the plastic shoes they lend you do nothing to keep out the cold!
